Hey guys, I need some help, I have given up trying to find an exhaust system alone. I want an exhaust system that is nice and deep idle, and is aggresive when I get on the thottle. I looked into Flowmaster 40s, not that deep and way too loud inside and outside the car. Magnapacks are too loud inside and outside that car. My friend has Borla cat-backs. :cussing: What is a good exhaust system that fit my specifications, deep at idle, louder when I get on the throttle and not extremely loud inside my car. Please help me. :silly:

If you really want to be quiet in the car, you need to step it up to some longtubes. LT's, offroad X, and Bassani catback are quieter inside the car than shorties with a catted x and same catback by far. My setup has "burned in" and is wicked sounding at idle and WOT. I can carry on a conversation in a normal tone inside the car at any cruising rpm. Try that with shorties and loud mufflers.

Theres a guy down my street with an '02 GT with SLPs and they are too loud and they aren't like a deep tone, they are like scratchy. I need a deep exhaust that is mellow inside the car.

I love the sound of my two chamber flow masters but I am also using the ford dual exhaust with an H-Pipe and the four mini-catalytic converters. The sound is rich and deep at idle. If I get on it the sound isn't bad at all. However if I climb quickly through second without really getting on it the sound can be loud in the car. My 87 is a vert so the sound comes through a bit more than a hard-top and I am running an automatic. But overall the sound is awesome.

personally I think SLP's sound horrible. Like a mack truck.

I'm partial to my magnaflows with an offroad X

www.magnaflowexpress.com $459, free shipping, and $100 off for being in a club (BMC or Gotstang?) so it's really $359

Yea but magnaflows or magnapacks? Magnapacks are louder I think.

I have flowmaster 40 series mufflers with a BBK off road x-pipe. Alot of people say they dont like the BBK x-pipe, but it sounds mean it is an agressive sound I like it. Way to loud inside the car and out for you though.

I bought Bassani cat-backs in July I guess it would be. I love them, theya re just what I want, they sounds awesome when I am idling or driving really slow and when I get on it, its like a friggin' stock car.

I have BBK Equal lenght headers, Magnaflow Tru-X o/r X-pipe and SLP LMII's. Everyone says it is really loud, but sounds sweet! Not too much sound comes inside the car!

I have BBK long tubes, a mac catless mid pipe, and mac pro dumps. It's a lot quieter than the flowmaster weld in's I had before, but louder out side the car. I love them.

My set up sounds like the one you want (not to toot my own horn). I'm running stock manifolds w/ O/R H & MAC Flowpaths. Inside is quieter than Flows (had those previously) and sounds extremley aggressive when you stomp on it. And the idle is really deep! You won't be dissapointed w/ that set up. Just my 2 cents...

i dont know about the cat backs, but if you are going O/R with the midpipe go with L/T headers and a short H-pipe...the O/R x's are notorious for rattling!!! and that gets annoying!!! the rumble is mostly attributed to the midpipe....h's for the low big block sound and x's for more of a high raspy nascar sound!! however, the catbacks do most of the sound control.

well I have Mac long tubes, No Cats, Mac H pipe and Hooker Aero Chambers. It will give you a real deep awesome sound but you might as well forget about hearing shit inside your car but that awesome roar of the engine. Unless of course you have one kick ass system. I prefer the sound of the car so it dont bother me.

i have mac LT's and prochamber...
had SLP-sounded race car deep at idle, but got way too raspy n loud any time u got on it...
now have magnaflow(the regular ones)-deep n quiet at idle, nice sound when on it, and not much interior resonance, i love it...

I have the Mac LTs and catted H pipe with a Steeda catback (Borla). Mines sounds great and sounds very aggressive when you get into it, much better after I changed my heads. The bigger valves really made it sound sweet.
