Okay so I missed my Cobra too much, so I decided to park the S4 in my carport indefinately and get myself something with the pizazz of the Cobra...
I got myself a 1990 Geo Prizm GSi...
Okay, so maybe it's got 300 lbs-ft more to go before reaching Terminator Cobra status... And perhaps the 5th gear on it is more of a 4th OD than it is anything useful... But, the damn thing nets me 35 MPG on the freeway...
And, to its defense, the GSi model came with the legendary 4A-GE (as opposed to the 4A-FE in the base and LSi model) Toyota motor... Except the version in the GSi is the JDM-equivalent 130 HP high-compression version! It also comes with sway bars from the factory, and the suspension is not all that bad for a...um...4 door Corolla. 2300 lbs! It's basically the AE92 Corolla GT-S with 4 doors.
Picked it up for 900 bucks.. It's only flaw? The paint is severely faded/oxydized... But the body is in great shape and so are the interiors.. The motor's strong and the tranny in perfect shape. My very first car was a first generation MR2 and it was the same red color...and it too became extremely faded. I guess they used shitty paint then.
I'd post pics of it, but I don't want to make any of you biased torque-lovers go :vomit: ...
