...not to mention that it would be illegal unless you used a 5.0 intake and EFI, etc. - which just wouldn't make any sense at all even if you could bolt it up!

If the 289 is in good servicable condition, you would probably find it is worth just as much if not more than a junkyard 5.0 anyway - sell it to someone who needs a V8 for their six banger 65/66 project and find yourself a good used 5.0 complete with all the extra bits you need to do the swap.

yea how would it be illegal?

Hes right though, id much rather have a 5.0 out of a wrecked fox or a crate engine than a 40 year old engine thats weaker than the engine you already have.

No emissions, but you might be able to get by with that in your county. IF it is only a 2 bbl 289, I wouldn't waste the time to put it in. I'd find a late model 302 EFI engine and all the wiring harness, it may cost a little more, but you will be happier in the long run.

To be truthful, the best thing to do is find a '95 5.0 car, get the K-member, springs, trans and rearend and rear springs out of the donor car.

Easier thing to do, sell this car and BUY a 5.0 car, it will probably be easier and cheaper in the long run, unless your building the car as a race car only.
