i think 19s should be more than enough but ive seen some stangs on dubs done right.

i honestly wouldnt even think about going anything bigger than an 18 on a mustang...

on the 05 body, i'd probably go with a 19

sounds like a trick question, kind of like should you tint the euros on a mustang?

no dubs on a stang. stick with 18's sell the 20's if you got them buy some nice 18's buy the springs and lowering kit and save the rest of the money for your tires.

no offense but those rims look fuckin ridiculous, its a sports car not a cadillac. Nothing over 18'' looks good on 04 and under mustangs....nothing.

sublime302

i agree with the others.. is it a trick question? why would u wanna lower it if u have 20's, its like either get 18's and lower it, or get 20's and stay stock suspension.. and yes it will ride like crap... but its all depending on what u want... and im not too sure, u should call ur local tire place, as in discount tire co, or somewhere... they will let u know if itwill rub or not, hope this helped....

I give you, an 05 on dubs (Boyd Coddington Smoothies) lowered with HR Springs. Belongs to a chic named Marie. She's pretty cool, she owns that, an 03 Cobra which she is trying to sell and a Yamaha R1.

why not? really, I don't like thoes rims. they're a little too gheto for the stang. but throw some nice 20" Cobra R's on there and you'd be golden. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y114/Jchilds24/100_0665.jpg

yes you can lower it. as for the ride... i don't think anyone buys a mustang for the ride, but right now mine's as butter as it was with the 17's

auriansmustang
07-06-2005, 10:43 PM
why not?
cuz mustang is pure muscle not lowrider. i wouldn't put anything larger than 18's on a stang even with that, a mustang can have crome rims, just aslong as they are not the type you would put on a caddy. chrome rims like the bullitts, torque thrusts, fr500s, cobra, cobra r, and so on, are nice. but not those

I've only ever seen a couple of mustangs with 20" rims that actually looked good. The blinging ones are just plain scary though.

Clint I think the orginal question had to do with lowering the car not whether her rims looked good... try and stay on topic.. ty :)

you can lower a dubed stang. You will probly rub the inner fendor unless they get rolled.

im gonna defend dirty and sexy stang here. first of all, for everyone who says that it looks "ridiculous" and "you shouldnt do it" who are you guys to say whether a person can put dubs or not on a stang. now i dont mind the opinions saying "i dont like it blah blah blah" but who ever said a mustang shouldnt be on DUBS?

is it some kind of rule? cuz i remember when the concept 05 first debuted it was on dubs.

second
wasnt there a certain purple FOXBODY COUPE rolling on dubs in the past issue of 5.0 mustang and super fords? i will post pics later to prove it.

third
whats wrong with trying to be different?
ever since i got my stang a few years ago mustang gearheads have preached to me that the only rims a stang should get are "ponies or cobras or bullet rims" and they cant be bigger than 18.

gee let me be completely original, build or buy a beautiful mustang and put black bullit rims like 20 percent of all mustang owners. or lemme get a set of cobra Rs so i can take it to a car show and park next to a dude with the exact same rims.

btw yes i have cobra Rs on my car but i only got them cuz i paid like 150 bucks for them. if i had the money i would get some aftermarket rims like HREs or maybe something a little less expensive.

yes ur car can be dropped on dubs. yes ur car might not be as smooth as before but if you like the dub dropped look then go for it. set urself apart

well u gotta understand why they do it. thats obviously set up as a lowrider. the dude wanted a cheap car to fix up that was rare. no big deal. i bet you his car is ALOT cleaner than your car.

yes the datun rims look funky but hey man thats how the lowriders do it.
there should be no standard as to how a mustang should look like. it should look like however the hell you want it. if you want to add a ricer body kit then go for it. if you want to add neons then go for it. you know why? your car has enough torque to hold its own in any race so no one can say "it just looks fast with that body kit or those rims"

I could change the oil on your car without even using a jack...

You've got more ground clearance than my Expedition.

Damn Leo calm down, looks like your having some kind of attack over there on your comp.. an opinion is a opinion geeezzzz..

As for lowering the car you can lower it 1" with no problems but any more than that and might rub. I like any car anyway you guys like them, Leo is right about that its your car do what you want. :)
