ENGINE REV RPM'S

DOES ANYONE KNOW AT WHAT RPM I SHOULD REV MY ENGINE TO WHEN RACING SOMEONE? I HAVE BEEN REVVING IT TO ABOUT 4000RPM AND I'M BURNING UP MY TIRES. I GO AGAINST MOSTLY IMPORT TRASH WITH ENGINE SWAPS.

When launching or between gears? If you're launching the car (from a stop), you'll want to rev up to about 2,000 rpms and then feather the clutch out slowly so you dont spin the tires. Once you're rolling then put the pedal to the floor and take it all the way up to almost 6,000rpms between shifts.

Yeah, launching at 4000 rpm with street tires will just make your tires scream in pain.
