4 new things coming to GS... rather quickly...

1.) Report a guestbook entry as spam. This will increment a counter for the user who sent it... when it reaches a certain amount their account will not be able to send guestbook entries for 48-72 hours depending on the count.

2.) For each user. they will be able to setup a 'top 10' list. This will be viewable by all.. This way you can see a users style... and what he sees as his 'perfect stang'.

3.) A comment section on the hunt subimissions. You will be able to add comments for each hunt item claimed.

4.) Report a user as inactive. After a certain amount of reports. The account will be deleted. This will only be available on peoples accounts who have not setup a webpage/profile.

I like these ideas. However, the first one should be carefully thought out because sometimes when I have time, I rate a lot of cars and therefore make a lot of comments that I don't think are necessarily spam. I especially like number 3. Once in a while I vote against something and I think it's good feedback so the person doesn't think someone out there just doesn't like them. We all see things in a different way and maybe this will clear some stuff up. :)

One thing i would check on accounts that you think are invalid, is to see who they ranked. If someone set up 5 different accounts and ranked there account they use the most, then that might be a dead give away as to who the member is who is doing that.

These are great changes, J, especially number 1. It will hopefully be the first step in many to keep this site fresh and fun for those of us who use it, not abuse it. Cheaters beware!

Couple comments on this:

J, I think a good addition to the My Webpage manager would be a "Delete This Page" option - this will allow members who accidently create an unnecessary page to delete them, allow the number of pages to be reduced if necessary (for example, if a members has 2 cars and no longer wishes to list one), and also allow people who no longer wish to have a website to delete the pages. Obviously you would want to have an "Are your sure" prompt to prevent accidental deletion.

I think members should be able to have a profile here without a webpage, as long as they participate, even if that is just logging on and viewing and ranking the other cars. There are a lot of stang admirers and enthusiasts out there who don't yet have one, but like to check out other peoples rides.

Hey J, something I noticed that might be up for change. Why is it that a person can be "ranked" on here when there only purpose is to come on and enjoy the stangs. If they don't have a car to show, wouldn't logic prevent us from ranking them like they have a car? There's a number of people that do that. I just scrolled through the top 500 members and found some people like that, and other stangers are actually ranking them. It's wierd. Is there a way to ensure that they can't be in the ranking system if there intention is not to show their car? It's no slight against them, it just reserves those spaces for those people who actually have stangs to show. Just a thought...

I like the ideas. We rank the person also for the simple fact that peopel willr ank cars becuase the person is cool when there car sucks. or the other way around.

hey sounds like good ideas, and for the ones i was "spamming", im sorry and i didnt think of it the way everyone i saying, so i stopped doing it, but what exaclty will be considered spam? what if someone misunderstands something u say and get mad, so they click spam... are you blocked?

I was voting in the face offs tonight and noticed you made it so that we can't see the score till it's done, THAT'S a great idea and it'll solve a lot of the BS I think.. :)
