Clearly, with the exponential growth in the member base of Gotstang, it's finally time to expand the tournament field. Thirty two car tournaments were all well and good when we had 600-800 members. But seemingly overnight, we almost have 1500 members.
I think we should skip right over 64 and go straight to a 128 car tournament.
C'mon J, this would be the greatest tournament ever! :clap:

Round 1 - 25 points each for the 64 winners
Round 2 - 50 points each for the 32 winners
Round 3 - 100 points each for the 16 winners
Round 4 - 175 points each for the 8 winners
Round 5 - 275 points each for the 4 winners
Round 6 - 400 points each for the 2 winners
Round 7 - 550 points to the tournament champion

I think we should try the 64 person tournament first :) maybe even makea bunch.. and have it so you can only enter the 32 person tourny if you have over 1000 points... OR... make it so any user can setup their own tournament... hahahahaha

That sounds great. I'd like to setup a 64 car tournament.

How does the "Gotstang Invitational Tournament" sound?

My idea: get 64 members with at least 500 gotstang member points (currently there are 186 members with 500+ member points) to sign up for this tournament.

There would be 4 different groups of members ranked #1 - 16 (sorted by the number of car rank points). From there, I'd like to group the matches just like the NCAA basketball tournament (see below).

I was gonna let the first 64 members with 500+ member points that wanted in sign up in a new thread. How's that sound?

Once 64 eligible members have posted up, I'll check all the car rank numbers and get you a 1-16 ranking for the 4 groups. :)
