View Full Version : I'm sure this isn't the right place but...

For those of us who have two Mustangs (I am still basking in my new one!) it would be cool if there was a way to have two separate places for them and yet not two accounts. I noticed when challenging someone, it's hard to specify what car you are up against. Also when nominating for the car show, it can be challenging. An example would be Ashentep. How can I nominate his 72 mach in it's category and his 95 GT?
Just some food for thought. I don't know how points would be figured or anything like that. I would imagine they could be combined as long as the two cars were not in a face off simultaneously. Then would it be fair?
That would require me to almost touch every little piece of the code... but I have thought about it already... and a way to have a seperate ranking too :)

Wendy,
I understand what you are talking about. My hubby put both of our cars on his gotstang site...even though one was purchased for him and the other for me. And he uses my car mostly in the hunts

Yeah it was weird because they were separate acounts then yours was moved to him. I was concerned it was unfair back then and now that I have two, I am positive it's unfair to a degree.
I think as far as face offs go, it would be ok if you took both names out of your profile message when you challenge someone. That way it is clear which car of yours is up against them. For example. If I were to challenge 93ramvert who has only one car. It isn't cool to keep both of my car's names up their in the title. I would chose one to show as the pic and in my title (aka the 6 for example.) That way maybe people would vote btwn my 6 and his vert and it would be better than him being up against the better of my two cars (which might be debatable depending on who you talk to.) Does that make sense?
AKA the message I sent Ryan way back when when my 6er was up against both of your cars. ;)
I don't think things will ever be perfectly fair here. I am just wishing their was a separate rating system so I could say the V6 was ranked at say 8.2 and the GT was ranked at say 7.5. I think that would be interesting info. I find it hard to rank both cars with one number when I visit other people with two.

I think you have a valid concern as far as haveing a specific page for each stang but not nec. for ranking purposes. I think you are reading too much into the rankings. It is fun to watch your rank rise but there are so many on here that vote for their friends or that BEG for votes during face-offs, tournys, and car shows. It defeats the whole purpose. J has created a great system for the voting. Everyone is urged to vote as you get points for doing so. There is no need to broadcast out "hey please vote for me bla bla bla. I know I am venting and getting off the subject but basicly it sounds like a good idea but a lot of work and in my opinion not worth the effort. J has givin everyone enough space to put multiple pages and pics up. So display 1 car on 1 page and your other on another page. Not that hard. If you are that upset about it just create another account with that ride. That way the "rank" that you were concerned about would be fresh for the new car. Wow. This turned out to be a long one!

For those that own 2 Mustangs (like myself) I think you should just put your best or favorite car first and let that car represent your gotstang profile. Make a page for your other Mustang, but don't worry about it getting votes, car show trophies, etc. It's not fair to members that only own one stang. Most people probably don't even know that I own a fox body Mustang. I do think it would be cool to have a split profile so that I could put my fox (http://www.gotstang.com/profile.php?Droptop2001GT&page=7) in the car show, or up against some of the other foxes in a face off. But, I don't think it's really fair, or worth all the trouble coding that it would take to implement the system. Even though my Fox is faster in the 1/8 mile (for now anyways) than my yellow GT, I still think that my yellow 'stang is far superior in terms of being an all around car. So that's why I have the yellow car as the main car on my profile. I want it to be the sole basis on which I am judged on gotstang.

Right Right, and for those with 2 stangs who can't decide which they like better...create another account for it.

I agree to what you are saying. There has been alot of conflict on how people vote, I personally let the car speak for itself and dont ask people to vote for me in either ranks or face-offs. I also think it needs to be more clear as to what car you are against. J made the site to be fun and a friendly competition so lets keep it that way. Sorry if this pisses anybody off.

This is the best Stang website I have been on, lets not ruin it with politics. Keep it simple. Keep it fun!

Besides, If I bought another Stan and added another member name for that stang, I'd go F'n crazy trying to keep up with both pages, I'm going crazy now. I agree, put the car you want to do the talking on page one and have page one pointing basically to that fact. This is my Gotstang ride. Then Page two for the second stang, this is my spare Stang, don't you wish you could have one nananananana page.

SHit! I got two Mustangs, and a 64 Fairlane on my site. The way I see it, you should look at the whole site, then vote.
