I wish! 3k will get ya nothing but a project car that year. This car has had the rear quarters, floorpans, the ball joints replaced, and fresh carpet.
5500 is getting close, it was a little more than that. People are wanting a shit load for things anymore.

Nice ride and clean too. However much you paid for it, it looks like it's in really good condition from the pictures so i'm sure you got a steal. Congradulation on the new addition my friend.

the problem is they are so popular people dont want to be patient so they will pay way more than they should, if you watch barrett jackson, plain jane 289 mustangs are going for huge amounts and it drives the prices of everything up, your lucky to get project cars for around 3K anymore

I think we have a winner! $6500.00. The kid was originally asking $7300.00, so I don't think I did too bad. I looked at a '67 the week before that wasn't as nice, and the guy was wanting $8500.00.

Was it a 67 fastback? cause people love to say "same car as eleanor" on those and try to rip you off

The pics show a Coupe. Fastbacks are outrageous, because everyone wants to build an Eleanor. I figure in a few years, there's gonna be a bunch of half finished projects that can can be picked up at a reasonable price. As a matter of fact, the kid I bought this car from, has a fastback he is getting ready to restore.

Hey, congrats on the purchase, I remember you said you were looking for one for your wife when I bought my '67...Your's DOES look in a LITTLE better shape than mine, though!!!!!! (Okay, alot!) It's kinda sick what you can get a coupe for compared to what I paid for a fastback, looking at the condition of the two, looks like you got a deal! Are you doing anything to it, or just driving it? I do think you're right about the half done projects, mine just won't be one of them!! Take care, and good luck!

She doesn't want me to do to much to it! She says mine is too loud. Prolly little dress up items, and such. I already put my Fairlane wheels on it, and it made a world of difference in the way the car looked.

Update! An aluminum intake, and Holley 4 barrel are on the way to my house for the '66. Nothing major yet. But then, this is usually how it starts.

I am in the same boat looking for a weekend car for my wife. I found it , She likes it (as do I ) , Placed an order for it (I am first in line to recieve at dealership) , Now the waiting game begins.
I get to go to dealership in a few months to pic options/color/packages/ what not's.
Just sucks that I will have to wait till end of summer next year to get her the car.

you should get some old clothes (maybe tie dyed) and take some pics of you by the car with that camera. Then you could say, "Yeah, that was me and the stang back in the 60's."
