Are we supposed to request permission from someone that we want to have a face off with? On a few face offs, I have recieved messages from the challenged saying "You could have ask me first", or something to that sort. In my opinion, I don't need to be present to face off with someone, unless.................nah we won't go into that.

Ya know in most cases stangit I would say no unless you are just going for the easy points, I know I'm back on this again. In order for me to challenge someone with less points they have to accept, but in order for a 2003 Roush with less points to challenge me he just hits the face-off and we're off. I should be allowed to say screw you get your points somewhere else. Another For instance theres a face-off currently off a 02 Mustang I think against an SVT Contour, Now I understand the Contour is on the Mustang site but I'm sorry there is no comparison between an 02 GT and any year Contour. I know bitch bitch bitch. Sorry

Yup, so can we get it so that, you must accept the challenge, rather than an auto accept?

That was annoying. I love face offs but I was about to face off with someone and I got auto entered into a 12 hour face off for 10 points. Blah i was goin after 75! now the person i was gonna go with is in another face off so i gotta wait longer etc. I put on my website to challenge me anytime, i'm cool with that but i'd like to have to accept to all face offs.

my feeling is that you shouldn't be forced into a face off that you don't want to be in. After all, some people may not want to do face offs ... I personally see nothing wrong with them and will take part in some when my car is finished, but its literally in a project state right now (due to the wreck) and if someone came along and just threw me in the boxing ring with a broken jaw I would NOT be happy.

Just my .02 ;)

I particularly don't like face-offs, or would like the option to say thanks, but no thanks. I know someone PMed me and asked if they could start one with me. That was great. Just like anyones car, mine is a work in progress and he is waiting until the new pics are up until he challenges me.

When he challenges me, My vote will go to him, because he was so nice in one, asking first, 2 waiting until I could get the new pics on the website.

I personally have only challenged 3 people and just don't really have fun with face offs.

But in the position that I'm in, everyone challenges me. Damn look at my loss record

I agree cant we have it set to where we have to accept the challenge instead of automatically throwing you into one.

Well I can have it so you if you are challenged by someone... you can still challenge someone else. So you can be a challenger and a challengee... I just dont think there will be to many face-offs for the newer user if he/she has a badass car and nobody wants to accept their challenge.. thats really the reason the whole more then less then point thing was designed...

Well it sucks having a badass car challenge you just b/c they know it'll autoenter you and the y automatically get the points for free and you get one of those ugly horses

well if the car was that badass .. it would have more points then you anyways, therfore it wouldnt be able to challenge you :) and its not like you lose any points.

i lost a faceoff by one vote, and i didn't even know i was in it until it was already over.I could have been the 1 vote, lol. I don't really care, I don't feel like less of a person because I lost a faceoff:)

I think it would be a good idea if there was some sort of class thing like stock, lightly modded or extreem, or something of that nature so you cant challenge someone that has more points because your new even though you have a highly modded car and there stock. Thats just my opinion. but anyways :gso:

I think that the thorny issue here is getting challenged and having a mark next to your name saying you lost. I don't know about the rest of you but I don't maintain a trophy cabinet for all of my losses. :loser:

Nobody minds having their successes highlighted but if only the losses where the challenger lost were listed I don't think people wouldn't mind being challenged as much.

Just my $0.02

On a personal note.. I think we all have a thread of dignity and none of us want to be told what to do. When we're left without a choice it tends to push us in a corner, which breeds resentment.
What's so bad about less face offs anyway? The world surely won't come to an end if people have the right to choose..

I think to a certain point this is true, But there still is the point of a baddass car going up against another car, just for points, Don't say that this can't happen because the baddass car should have more points. I've seen some pretty nice ass cars that are climbing up the ranks that don't have the points I have. Ya know I'm losing interest in fighting it anymore. I'm wasting typing time on this when I could be post other stuff.

You have no control over someone who shows up at a car show with a great looking ride and is going to take the prize. That is just life. Likewise, you don't get a permanent bumper sticker that says I'm a loser either. I still believe if a challenged car didn't wind up with a black mark against them there would be much less controversy over who challenged who.

Im starting to agree on some level.. maybe a different color horse if you were challenged and lost?

MTXpro
04-29-2005, 06:44 PM
I think there should be a mandatory agreeance for face offs, if someone challenges you or you challenge someone , no matter how many points ahead or behind someone is, you have to agree to it, that is not a hard thing and it would get rid of all this. And while we are at it how about a min. wager. I just got auto entered for 5 points. Grrrrrr

Im new here and just made a challenge for 5 points. I dont even know what this whole point thing anyway. I only challenged a person who wanted a challenge and had a modded car. I wouldnt challenge someone rolling stock. I agree, there should be a way to decline challenges.

No you may not have control over somone who shows up at a car show, but at least they'll be put in the right class, a 2004 Cobra will not be classed up with a 93 convertible.

With the whole loser pony, I think it would be nice to have them gone completely. But even if the pony is gone I still don't want a 2000 GT challenging me so he can get easy points. Thats the bottom line here. People are going after the cars that they know they have a better chance a beating so they can get more points. I haven't seen these people challenge OneBad, there's not to many out there, that are doing it.

I challenged "J" because he wanted a challenge and he has more mods then me. I wouldnt go after someone who I know I will win against, thats just not fair and not even fun.

You should get a guestbook entry when you are challenged. Let me know if you dont. By the time I see the entry, the face-off is already over. I don't spend all my time on this site. Especially after the tie suddenly became a loss.........that one hacked me off. IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN LEFT AS A TIE. Maybe you should get rid of the loser ponies.
