Join the resistance!!!! I hear we are going to hit close to $3.00 a

gallon by the summer and it might go higher!! Want gasoline prices to

come down? We need to take some intelligent, united action.

Phillip Hollsworth, offered this good idea: This makes MUCH MORE SENSE

than the "don't buy gas on a certain day" campaign that was going around

last April or May! The oil companies just laughed at that because they

knew we wouldn't continue to "hurt" ourselves by refusing to buy gas.

It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them.

BUT, whoever thought of this idea, has come up with a plan that can

really work.

Please read it and join with us! By now you're probably thinking

gasoline priced at about $1.50 is super cheap. Me too! It is currently

$2.09 for regular unleaded in my town. Now that the oil companies and

the OPEC nations have conditioned us to think that the cost! of a gallon

of gas is CHEAP at $1.50- $1.75, we need to take aggressive action to

teach them that BUYERS control the marketplace....not sellers. With the

price of gasoline going up more each day, we consumers need to take

action. The only way we are going to see the price of gas come down is

if we hit someone in the pocketbook by not purchasing their gas! And we

can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves. How? Since we all rely on our

cars, we can't just stop buying gas. But we CAN have an impact on gas

prices if we all act together to force a price war.

Here's the idea: For the rest of this year, DON'T purchase ANY gasoline

from the two biggest companies (which now are one), EXXON and MOBIL. If

they are not selling any gas, they will be inclined to reduce their

prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to

follow suit. But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions

of Exxon and Mobil gas buyers. It's really simple to do!! Now, don't

whimp out on me at this point...keep reading and I'll explain how simple

it is to reach millions of people!!

I am sending this note to about thirty people. If each of you send it to

at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300) .. and those 300 send it to at least

ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000)...and so on, by the time the message reaches

the sixth generation of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION

consumers. If those three million get excited and ! pass this on to ten

friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted! If it

goes one level further, you guessed it..... THREE HUNDRED MILLION

PEOPLE!!!

Again, all You have to do is send this to 10 people. That's all. (If

you don't understand how we can reach 300 million and all you have to do

is send this to 10 people.... Well, let's face it, you just aren't a

mathematician. But I am ... so trust me on this one.)

How long would all that take? If each of us sends this e-mail out to

ten more people within one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people could

conceivably be contacted within the next 8 days!!! I'll bet you didn't

think you and I had that much potential, did you! Acting together we

can make a difference.

If this makes sense to you, please pass this message on. PLEASE HOLD OUT

UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO THE $1.30 RANGE AND KEEP THEM DOWN.

THIS CAN REALLY WORK. Kerry Lyle, Director, Research Coordinator

Well i guess the author didnt figure that someone would post this to a forum. you can reach over 1000 people with this. I already dont buy gad from exxon or mobile. Someone on YMR posted a list of gas companies that purchase oil from the middle east and by purchasing from the middle east it only help possibly supporting terrorist. Just look at Sept 11th. most of the terrorists were from Saudi Arabia and they are our allies.......or so they say.

Peopel and there ideas. Get with the program people it will not happen. They are stupid if they think that just becuase we do not use gas from a company that they are going to lower there cost to where they are losing money on the oil that they sell. The person that wrote that obviously does not know much about how a business works. I buy gas from shell.

I buy from AT Williams Oil Company (http://biz.yahoo.com/ic/109/109522.html), based right here in Winston-Salem, NC. They always have the cheapest prices in town. You PA/VA/NC/SC/GA/AL guys might have their "Wilco" or "Hess" stations nearby.

Ok, first... there is no way for the consumer to lower the gas prices. The oil/fuel industry spends billions a year contributing to the fed gov't. Our gov't wouldn't allow us to hurt the oil industry, our economy is pretty much built on it anyway. We NEED gas... lol especially with the types of cars all of us drive ;) Second, even if you did manage to lower the gas prices it doesn't matter, someone WILL get your money. For example, the fed gov't is now trying to pass through congress a bill that would tax you based on the gas/mileage you put on your car, if you fill up at pump less you will pay more $ in taxes. So... let's review. The feds give you a tax break when you buy that nice economical hybrid car. Then they turn around and want to tax you because you have to fill up less than everyone else. So the fed gov't still makes out like bandits. All this $ coming in and they still increase our national deficit by $30,000 every 20 seconds. Wish I had the oportunity so buy an 03 cobra every 20 seconds. I thought America was all about freedom and everything, but it's not. Now it is illegal to have HID's on a car that didn't come OEM with them even though they are safer and last longer, it's illegal to drive without cat converters but the industries of America pollute almost at will, can't have neons on the car because that's distracting... does a police car going by with flashing lights cause accidents? Everything our fed, state, and most local gov'ts do now is to produce more income that they can spend... usually on crap. And they wonder why most of the citizens in this country are $30,000 or more in debt, we learn from our gov'ts. I'm sorry about getting political, I don't usually get vocal about it, but lately gov't has really let me down in America. I LOVE being American, don't get me wrong. I just think we need some people in gov't who are younger than 40. GOD I HATE BUSH!!! Sorry had to get that out too :) Heard now he wants to put a ban on the pill at public pharmacies. What a bunch of bullsh*t that is. Now he wants there to be more unwanted children in America sucking up more fed, and state taxes. Of course the number of abortions would also go up as well. And let's not forget the legal litigation that would tie up the court systems resulting from either botched abortions, or attacks on abortion clinics. Let's face it people our country is headed in the direction of socialist societies. We already outlived the 200 year survival rate for most democracies. Feel free to dispute, discuss, or agree with anything I've said. But please don't be an @$$ and just say "America rules!!! and if you don't like it you should leave". That is just simple minded, closed-minded, and generally fundamentalist.

Exxon supplies oil to most US gas companies. Will be tuff to figure out which ones to avoid.

This idea is idiodic.
