Can't remember who I got the idea from here, But I'm putting the finishing touches on this "Ben is Bored" project.

Basically I removed my Hood scoop, and seperated the front hood scoop grill, and drilled out each of the honeycomb grill pieces. I then sanded the front honeycomb to get rid of any nicks and scratches and spray painted it gloss black.

On the top inside of the scoop, I placed a 9" neon light (blue) and ran the cabling.

If all works out, Yes I'll take pics, there will be a blue glow inside the scoop projecting over the hood (fingers crossed)

It was really easy. Since I did all the drilling and alignment when I installed the hood scoop anyways.

I just removed the hood firewall and anscrewed it. I'll post pics of the process.

Thanks J. My son is now doing the wiring. Going to get a new switch to match the one that comes stock with GTs for the fog lamps. I already have one for the fog lamps, this one is going where the coin holder is.

Oh Yeah. My Xenon Body Kit arrives tomorrow. Painting and installing it is next weekends project, My wife, Stacy, who did self help study on body repair and painting is doing the painting.

Heat sheild: the insulating peice on the bottom of the hood that keeps engine temps from burning the paint off your hood...

It's going to be WAY KEWL! But not as cool as the xenon kit!!!! :D

Did you remove the under-hood lining, or is it still on there??? If you removed it, I would worry about too much heat on the plastic of the neon protection... I'm putting some neon in the front of my car so that behind the pony emblem it will glow blue, but I was warned that I will need a heat shield to keep the heat away.

I replaced the hood heat shield. Everything went back like stock.

There is two way tape that came with the kit, then I used hot glue (That's the black) as a backup. I always go a bit overboard when it comes to stuff like that. Failsafes and backups
