It appears that the Pope is dead, though you can't find anything about it online, it's all over the TV.

:(

Maybe they don't want people thinking it's an April fool's joke so they won't announce it 'til tomorrow.

Although I'm not religious, my family is Catholic and I respect their belives and the Vatican's efforts relating to many global issues.

If there is a heaven, I hope he gets a nice condo in it and gets to go fishing whenever he feels like it. hehe :)

I posted a very similar response on NewCelica.org's forums...

"He's already dead. The vatican is just stalling at this point. They don't want the Pope to have died on some lame American "holiday" like April Fools Day. They'll hold out until after midnight (in their time zone) to turn the lights out and announce the death. I fully expect the lights to go out at around 5:01 pm EST."

I think maybe a sense of decorum is due here. I am not Catholic, but I do have a great respect for His Holiness. This gentleman has done alot for the world and has been a central figure in world affairs.

Agree or disagree, He was a man of peace and should be respected

There is no more of a man that deserves to walk through those gates then he.
