I just wanted to share this e-mail, I just received back!

Hey Dennis,

The editor of Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords, Jim Campisano, just forwarded me
your email. We would like to photograph the car for a car feature. Our
travels will be bringing us down to your area a few times this year. Right
now we might be in Bowling Green for the PRO Series race in June. If not
then, we definitely will be there for the NMRA World Finals in Bowling Green
towards the end of the year.

Other events we will be at are any of the FFW or NMRA events and of course
WFC. Do you attend any those events?

That is an awesome feeling when that happens. I would suggest that you contact them via email a couple weeks before whichever event you decide to attend, so that they can work you in the schedule to get shot for your feature.

Congrats,
Charlie

I was really surprised at their response.......I always been told that black don't photograph well. I could never get Hot Rod to look at my ol Fairlane. I wish I could get them to come to my house, that would be a great double shoot.

This is the original e-mail, I sent to Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords

I would like to have my Mustang considered, for an article in your fine Magazine. I started with an '89 LX 4 cylinder sedan, otherwise known as a Notch. I used a '91 5.0 LX Hatchback as a donor car. I felt the Hatchback had to much damage to the front, and I like the looks of the Notch better anyway.

The intent was to remove all the usable parts from the '91 hatchback, clean them up, or rebuild them if needed, then install them on the '89. Somewhere, during this time, I started buying new parts, and one thing lead to another. The engine, suddenly grew from 302 cubic inches, to 347 cubic inches. The facory iron heads, were replaced with Edelbrock performer RPM heads. The factory intake was swapped out for Edelbrock Upper and Lower intake with an Edelbrock 70 mm throttlebody.

The front suspension received the same treatment. The stock K-member was traded out for a tubular K-member with tubular A-arms, and a coil over suspension. The steering rack was replaced with a manual steering rack from Flaming River.

A stock T-5 tranny is currently being used. It is connected to an aluminum driveshaft, that is hooked to the 8.8 rearend with 3:55 gears in it.

This was my 1st attempt at painting a car, and I believe it turn out nice. I learned alot from that, and plan to do an even better job the next time around. This project took approximately 13 months, from start to finish. All the work was perform by me, except for the hanging of the quarter panel replacement.

I am including several pics of the car. Some are before the teardown, and some will be after the buildup. I will try to keep them in some kind of order, but forgive me if a couple are out of place. I'm know you guys will be able to figure out which ones are which. I also included a parts list of everything that was put in this car.

I think my car would make a nice do it it yourself article. If not an article, then atleast a mention in the back of your fine Magazine would be appreciated. It is a great magazine, with very informative articles. Keep up the good work! I will be looking forward to reading a reply from you. Thanks for you time.

Sincerely,

Dennis Severs
