 im thinking about installing t-tops or a sunroof into my 86 project, i think the t-tops would look bad ass since ive seen them and there sweet but the sunroof seems like a much easier project, what do you guys think? :thanks:

The sunroof comes with the ease to install. The T-Tops, which were huge in the 80's on the Trans-Am and Z28's are great looking items. Make sure that you check out the company that will install them. Some are smaller than the door opening and look like crap with the tops off. Make sure these don't have the chrome huge edges which can look nasty, and if they are painted black tend to flake and look horrible too. I like the T-Top idea though. They are a bit rare on the Mustang.

I'd love a sunroof. I wonder what they would say about that at the track. I know they treat t-tops like a convertable so you have to run a cage with a moderately quick car.

I've been wondering about a Sunroof! You can actually have it done? Who does that; a body shop??

BTW; definately let us know how the T-tops work out!
keep in mind you loose allot of structral support; Mustangs in general tend to twist anway; the T-tops make this worese; you may want to consider something like full length subframe connectors to prevent overall body twist.
(I read allot of Mustang books:))

the ttops comeing along great, and about the sunroof, its best to take that project to a customising shop, body shops will cost a fortune, i work for a custom shop thats why i chose the ttops, for anyone thingking of doing it yourself stop. lmao it is a very persice poject, gotta make sure the windshield is perfect and it is aggetating, and like yall said the frame is being reinforced, with out it the car would twist in half, lmao, ill update with pics later

I've done a sunroof before. It's no big deal to install one yourself. T-tops on the other hand...

I've seen 99-04 mustangs with sunroofs, and targa tops, they look sweet, I wish Ford would make a mustang with a sunroof, but I guess we get a convertible instead.

I'd love Ttops, the donor car I'm picking up is an 87 w/ tops.....too bad I'm just stripping the guts out of it and scraping the rest.
