I moved the battery to the trunk yesterday and was wondering if I should put an inline fuse on the POS cable? If so what size?
Here's the setup, Taylor box from eBay $80, Summit racing 2ga cable kit $30, fender mounted stereo junction block used to connect the new POS cable to the old POS cable (didn't want to use electrical tape).

The reason I'm thinking of a fuse is because the POS cable is running through metal and even though every hole has a grommet there is the remote possibilty of the grommet moving and then cable starts to rub on the metal, and that's not good.
Whenever running power anywhere.. its always good to have a fuse somewhere in the path.... Im not sure what size though... let me look around

The car is my wife's DD so I can't put to small a fuse to were cranking amperage pops it. She wouldn't now what to do and would be PO'd if it happened more than once. I'm thinking ANL type since they are rated the highest just not sure what size.

As I said the cars a DD, and just because you've never had a problem doesn't mean it can't happen. And just because the battery is rated at 500 cranking amps doesn't mean thats what your starter actually draws when cranking
