It can be done, there would be some modifications that would have to be done. I have to find the pic of one I have seen... When I find the link I will post it!

Dude, I think it should fit right in with little or no modification. They changed the dashboard mounting stuff in like 83 or 85, so after those years it should fit right in.
This is just what Ive heard, so dont quote me on it.
Im currently trying to install an 89 dash in an old 79 notch, and its a beeeeyyyyyooootch!!!! I have to cut, drill, and fab new mounting tabs to the metal under the inside of the windshield.

yeah it can be done, but I prefer the 85-86 gt dash and upholstery over the 87-93 dash and trim. but thats me.
good luck with the swap.

after much debate, the wiring on the swap seems to be too much of a pain in the butt, lol. i prefer 87-93 but im cool with vintage, thanx all for your help

It should be no problem slapping the 87-93 fox dash into your 86. The worst part will be getting the electronics back in, but man it's a great looking mod. Just got back from the junkyard myself with some door panels, window motors, door side moldings and the spare tire cover for a notchback. Can't believe that part is nearly $60 for a piece of press wood.
