View Full Version : Need some paint opinions.

I have to paint my new strut tower brace that I made the weekend, and I can't decide how I want it to look. I'm fairly sure that I want the majority my custom red, but I don't think that I want the brackets to stand out red. So I chopped some idea. Keep in mind that the rough texture of the surface is because it is still unworked steel. also, yes my engine bay is dirty, so is the entire car, so I darkened the outside of the pic so that it wouldn't bother you as bad. :lol:

other notes, the red will actually be a little darker than that in the end, and the bolts that will hold it in place will be silver(no real choice there).

I should probably add:

There will be red valve covers, maybe red pullies, maybe red radiator cover, red on my new rear seat delete/sub box, red rear strut tower brace(going to make one this summer), I'm thinking repainting my shocks and struts when I change them in the red, red detail on my amps, maybe red springs, maybe red in my center column a/c vent surround, maybe some little red on my fog switches, etc. All in my custom berrywine.

berrywine w/ black brackets....the fade is cool, but it could be taken as a mistake at shows...

It looks like there will be a very minute fade at each end. It will look like the last one, but there won't be a clean cut line, but a small maybe 2in fade.

I hope so. I'm going to keep yelling at my dad to work so he might get something done this week. I only wish I could go home this weekend to help, but it's supposed to freeze again. :cussing:

Thx for the help guys. I hope that this STB works as good as it will look. If so, I think that I'll press on and do a SFC cross brace, rear STB, my own swaybars. I should just make a jig and mas produce them. :naughty:
