I went to the local dealership and got their GTO and put it on my mustang dyno. It pushed 320 HP and 326 torque. Ok numbers. It was an auto and it lost 70 throyugh drivetrain

Those are impressive numbers. Doesn't the Mustang dyno typically read less than a Dyno jet?

Yep, suprised the hell outa me! Now its not that they read low. Its that they read correct real world numbers. Not just spinning drums.

That's been the GM story since 93 hasn't it? Underrated high torque/hp in a cheap plastic looking package. Fortunately, dyno numbers don't define a car. It wouldn't kill me to have a 350 or 383 under my hood

Yeah, they've got the 5.7 LS1!!! Pretty stout engine! Though, you'd think a 5.7 liter would huff out bigger numbers.. if FORD made a blown, modular, 32 valve, DOHC, 5.7..., THAT would be killer!!

Too bad they didnt do a better job in the design of the GTO, I am getting tired of car makers bringing back old names and never really doing the car justice. At least this one finally packs a punch

Ya its the 6.0 LS2 .. and this car losses 70hp through drivetrain... while my mach only loss 20 lol..... hmmm i smell $hit. Actually chevy rates their cars right. Now ford under rates their cars.. Mach is actually around the 350 flywheel hp. If yoyu look at the numbers on that GTO and take 17% from 400 through drivetrain and automatic tranny, it comes out to be bout right. But still looks like a grand am and only doing 13.3 in 1/4 tisk tisk.. 281 cubic FORD inches are whipping up chevy 350 strange huh?
