Last summer, I was considering the option to buy a '94/95 T-Bird SC (they had the best flowing heads and stronger trannies that year) and swapping the engine of my fiancee's '00 Mustang V6 coupe with the TBird's...

Never got around doing that cuz her parents needed a car so we gave em the V6...

I was wondering if anyone here has or knows anyone who has done this?

Im' considering getting, instead of another GT convertible... A V6 vert and doing the swap in the near future. Not sure how successful this would be, though, but if it is I'm sure the car would be quite unique.

If not then, anyone here with twin turbo custom setups on their V6?

I'd really like to see one (pics at least), and some sort of write up on what all the install entailed.

The 3.8 in the Tbird SC is built for boost... And aside from the headgaskets blowing easily (which is actually not a bad thing, since I'd prefer blown headgaskets than a cracked block), they're pretty mod-friendly...

The Tbirds are heavy cars, and you still see them (even the automatics) running 11's and 12's all day at the track with a modest amount of bolt ons...

In a Mustang V6 coupe body (much lighter), I'm sure it would make for a fun car...

If anyone has any write up, pics, or threads discussing this in detail, please share... I'm very interested in this project.

I would suggest searching over at 3.8. I know that a few people have done that, and one guy on V6power that has done a twin turbo settup.

Justin00stang has a twin turbo v6 that runs 11.47's in the 1/4th. Tuxmaskandy at 3.8 custom builds full single turbo kits for under 3k, everything included. Also alot of supercharged v6's and serious motor work guys at 3.8, its a great technical site for the 95+ v6 mustang.

Good suggestion. What year V6 b/c that will determine alot of your options.

I'm thinking of getting a 99 ~ 04 V6... I will go turbo/twin turbo if I keep the stock motor, or I will just do the swap to a Tbird's 3.8 SC...

My goal is to have a convertible V6 Mustang that's faster than my stock '04 Cobra... With better gas mileage, and cheaper insurance... haha

Then I'll just park the Cobra and claim it as a recreational vehicle in my insurance.

I don't think that the gas milage will be any better. Mine is only about 19 city and I'm stock. :goodbye:

I fill up twice a week on the Cobra... Sometimes 3.

Also, keep in mind the Cobra requires 92 octane....

Twin turbo would be a better option for a 99-04 V6.
