The more I see this car (every other day driving by the dealer) the more I want one.

Anyone been following the recent magazine articles? 264rwhp showroom stock? Excuse me Mach and 99-02 Cobra owners, but isn't that right in line with typical cars of your vintage? Last I heard it was. Jeez, think of the money I spent to make a 302 that put down 280?! (solid 300 in good air though)

The 05's can get real close to 300 with some tuning alone. I don't know if the car parked out in the garage is enough to keep me out of the showroom. Now accepting any reasonable offers...

Wait for a cobra. Do not waste your time on the new GT. Ya know you sell your car and you are jumping in to a car that somebody can just up and buy. You have put a lot of time in to your car. why would you want to go get somethign that you might see pulled right up beside you at a light ya know? As for the numbers they are good. My cobra put down 271 after the dyno.

Well, you gotta know that warranties mean absolutely nothing to me. That 05 would be blown and intercooled immediately. Rims? You bet. Body kit? Yep. Porno red interior? Hell no. If I wasn't stuck in license class making straight 80, I think I'd already be there. Just need a little OT to make it work for me.

I don't know that I'd give up my '00. The boy's gonna be 16 in three years, that's not that far away...

Did I mention that I qualify for the X-plan? man, I'm going to the lot just to look around...

You dork (;)) The car is worth more than that in bone stock V6 form

I'm not trading. I'll save enough on the X-plan to nullify any trade benefit. Man it sounds like I'm buying soon...

Just make sure the manditory recall on the bolts for the front A-arms are done before you pic on up. It would suck to see your tires pass you up.

Honestly, wait for a high-performance "05". If the stock GT's are putting down 280, we have something good in store for us performance freaks.

Also not ...Not so easy to Mod the car. No chip port, Handheld only option right now

Losts of other issues with changing the output of the engine. All will come in time , I saw stay away from the 05. Possible look at the 06 cobra or a certain 07 cobRa or the Shelby mustang. Yes I can confirm that shelby is going to be another tuner again.

Clint Bro, I'm not getting rid of my baby for the 05. I'd buy the 05.

Electronic tuning will eeke out 300rwhp from these cars, Vortech has a kit all ready to market. Even if that only produced 450rwhp, that's enough for me. I've outgrown the 600hp desires (sorta).

Good thing(?) the local dealer doesn't have anything but sixes in stock...

All dealers have V6's in stock, and some a few GT automatics... All GT 5 speeds are sold before they hit the showroom floor.

They're actually being built slower than the demand...

I do think you should wait a bit... You should never buy (brand new) the first version of any vehicle... Plus, if you don't care about warranties, you shouldn't waste your money on a brand new one anyways... Get a low miles used one, you could save enough to invest in your aftermarket craze...

Or wait for the SVT/Shelby versions...

Man, based on the flow numbers you put up, it should be like me putting some Victor Jr.'s on my car...Your 299 is right in line with the magazine article. Only the old school 5.0 guys can really appreciate that number. It really was a very expensive proposition to get to that number with the 302 parts available just 5 years ago. Now it's just a reflash!?! With a power peak of 5500 rpm, the car is sure to run like a raped ape off the line too. Weight being the only drawback so far. Superior suspension, looks and power...mmm. I'm sold.

Eddie,

How am I gonna get a used one when there's not even enough new ones to go around? And staying away from first year models? Nah, that's leftovers from the 80's and early 90's. Quality is job 1 and they actually mean it now. Besides, the 3 valve has seen some action in the F150. Nothing else on the new car is so technologically advanced that there would be any reason to be afraid of it. It might be time for the Cobra before I take the plunge, who knows? I wanted a Focus to rice out last month, hopefully this will pass too. But if I see another example with blacked out windows and some 20's....

You'll see plenty of used ones within the next 6 months... Trust me on that one, always happens.

Happened with the STi's, happened with the Evo's, happened with the Celica GT-S 6 speed when they first came out, happened with the Terminator Cobras in early '03.

You'll kick yourself if you don't excercise patience... It's the best friend for your wallett....

we are going to be trying the F-150 3V Cams, b/c they are a litle more aggresive in the torque specs. it's worth a try since tere are no aftermarket YET. however Pauls High performance and Ford Racing will have there out sometime in late July.

How will that do with the turbos? Seems like you'd want some high velocity exhaust gas for the turbos. The stock cams peak at 5500 (so I've read). Why lower the torque peak any further, especially on heads that probably flow right up to 7K rpm no problem? Just curious to what the thought process is there? Low end torque off the motor, high end charge from the turbo? Won't the cams kill the cylinder filling at high rpms even with the turbos?
