Am I the only person perturbed by Ford's apparent lack of intelligence when it comes to the placement of our cupholders? They aren't deep enough, and they are perfectly in line with the damn shifter. Maybe I'm just picky about spilling drinks all over my car, but I just don't quite understand the logic in this setup. The seatbelts are a whole other story of uselessness.

Well, we went from no cupholders in my old '92 Fox, to a flimsy can't hold a damn thing cupholder in my '95, to a pair of in the way cupholders in my '00. At this rate, we'll have functional and ergonomic cupholders by model year 2012, maybe...

In my '95 I'd wedge it between the e-brake and the seat.

If I put a drink on the frontmost holder, I'll eventually forget about it and spill it when I try to grab a gear...
And the one behind it likes to harass my elbow.

I like the European attitude. They do not put cupholders in cars. A car is for driving and concentration, not a beverage stop.
I put my drivers cup in the drivers seat. It is stabalized with a wide bottom.

the front one is deep...but doesnt have enough clearance to shift with a can of pop much less a bottle...and the rear is just a joke. I usually use them to hold my change and chap stick.

the most aggravation is the fact that you have the ashtray ( which I use as a change holder) that has to be moved everytime I go to use the drink holders.
Also I am so short that I have to sit so close to the steering wheel and my armrest becomes absolutely USELESS

I have a bug cup from the little store under my dorm that fits in the back cuphoder perfectly, and I deleted the front cup holder so that people might finally get the idea that I don't want anything in there. My shifter is longer than most, so there can't be anything( including a coke can) or it will mar the underside of my shifter.
