I touched....a Ford GT....

I almost got performance anxiety during the events, which occured abuot an hour ago...

I dropped the Cobra off for a few warranty item checks... And as I walk into the showroom floor, there right in the middle, in all of it's short height glory... a red Ford GT with the engine hood open...

It had an "Sold As Is - No Warranty" sticker on it, so I asked what the story was behind it...

Turns out that the local Cadillac dealer's owner (Cadillac of Bellevue) bought it for his daughter... She then decided she wanted to buy a winery (WTF????) so she sold the car to Ford of Bellevue over the weekend...

I would disown her and take her off my will in a heartbeat!

sigh...

But at least I got to touch it... hahaha

I'll try and take more pics today when I go back. When I was looking at it earlier, there was virtually noone at the dealer. Just the receptionist up front, and one of the sales guys in the back making some phone calls..

Oh yea, and the service shuttle driver staring at it with me. He's the one who told me the story above... Hopefully it's just a bad rumor, as it was quite disappointing!

I got to sit in one at the Barret-Jackson auction this past weekend here in Phoenix. It sold for a tad over 300k. Was hot as hell, and currently is the only Ford GT in the world that's able to be driven. (Only GT that's already been given the fixes)

I've walked through Ford's 'niche line' at the Romeo engine assembly plant. This is the line where all of the limited production handbuilt engines are made (03-04 Cobra, Ford GT, etc). I managed to leave with one of the engine badges (on the very front of the right valve cover in 2nd picture) for a Ford GT. :D

I was up at the Ford dealership tonight checking out new leases to replace my Explorer- and sitting on the showroom floor is a red Ford GT (looks alot like the one at the start of this thread)...Sticker price- $156,000- (those stripes are a $5000 option!)
The owner of the dealership isn't selling the car unless he gets a good enough offer, and he's already turned down $250,000. How greedy can people be????
