How about a Best "Do It Yourself Award" in the next car show. I think it's cool, when ya wrenched every nut & bolt, and repainted your own car. Nothing wrong paying someone to do it, but that kinda takes the fun out of this hobby.

Thoughts and actions are different things. And don't call me sexy in front of all of the others. :thumpupn:

I think that's a great idea. I have atleast 200 hours in building my car. I did have some friends stop over and help, but all those hours of sanding stunk. Was worth it in the end though.

Yep, my car was maroon, the guy I bought it from painted over the clear coat with spray can blue!!!! We took the whole car down to bare metal!

Sanding, replacing, painting, putting back together, working out the bugs, etc., etc.!
I think there is like 700 hours in total disassembly/reassembly of the car. We won't even talk about all the hours on the internet, researching parts, and purchasing parts.
The UPS man knew me on a first name basis.

When I was restoring my Nissan, I could call about parts, and they wouldn't have a clue what the car was. :ugh2: Even the Nissan people didn't think they still made parts for the car. So I knew all of the local junkyards my memory, and the owners by name. To this day I think I could drive right to at least three of the wrecks in one of them just by memory.
