Was cruising the Ebay pages looking for some longtubes for my ride when I came across some LT's for the 2005, ONLY $1077. WTF, the car is obviously gonna cost waay to much to modify. Thanks god my LT's are just 1/6th of that...

Right now the prices are just crazy because the car is so new, hopefully the prices will drop.

I haven't seen the cam prices drop too much for the 4.6's, seems they still run about $500. I can get a custom ground for $350, off the shelfs are a mere $139-189. The 05 may be dead and gone before the prices become reasonable enough for me. I'll just have to drop some pushrod power in mine I guess...

There just starting to make parts for the 05's so it will be awhile before they lower the prices on parts.

That is true, but you do realize that for the 4.6 you have to have 2 or 4 cams, not just one. I have seen some modular cams for around 300 bucks.

Hmmm, no, I didn't realize that [/sarcasm]...of course I did! Even still, @ 250 bucks a pop (typically) it's a bunch of dinero, and modulars have been in a performance application since '96.

Oh well, it isn't unexpected. I'm not the kind of guy who waits for a car to go out of warranty before I start wrenching, I wouldn't be able to wait for prices to come down (10 years from now)

Decent headers for the 4.6 are still a grand. the bassani mid lengths and the SLP mid lenghts are both over a thousand but worth every penny.

Look at the supercharger difference. It is like a grand less for the 98 motors, compared to mine. Can't wait for those to drop to like $2500. Vortech's website it is $5200 or so with an aftercooler. I would hate to see the price for the 05's :looney:

For around $5000, you can get a REALLY nice turbo kit custom made and have gobs more power on tap or ready after you build up the bottom end.

For $5000 I'd remind myself that my car nothing more than a 4000 mile a year work car...
