I was wondering how this works and how much it cost and everythign like that. What are your thoughts about it?

Yea, I got the LoJack location and early warning systems installed...

The location by itself is about 795 bucks, the two systems together (EWS relies on location device) runs about 995...

Haven't had my car stolen yet so can't tell you much about how fast it works, but from their point of view you have the following benefits:

- Lowers insurance cost (we'll see...I got my certificate from them that I have to provide a copy of to my insurance provider)

- When vehicle is reported stolen, the police department immediately activates the LoJack devices in the vehicle to locate it.

- The EWS notifies you within 15 to 30 minutes if the vehicle is moved without the EWS remote in the car (looks like your keyless entry remote, but without buttons).

- You get to choose 5 different ways to be notified, phone, text message, email, etc...

- If your vehicle is reported stolen and not recovered within 24 hours (I think), you get a refund of up to 995 for your LoJack system.

- LoJack device location is only known to the installer (LoJack technician).

There are no monthly fees, the LoJack works for the lifetime of your vehicle.

The LoJack earned me a $132 discount on my 6 months policy, so roughly $260 per year. This is through Allstate.

Not bad at all...
