So, my Fox has been sitting in my yard wasting away for nearly three years. The convertible top has deteriorated and leaks, the interior went from white to mold green, and rat chewed. The damage from where she was totaled has rusted. The front tires were flat. Engine wise, she was corroded, wouldn't stay running, squeaky, weak. She is our 4th vehicle, and was never used or started. I tried selling her several times, but never could get the heart to say goodbye to my beloved steed.
Until the other day, when I decided that a 91 with only 94k was worth fixing.
We took the top down, scrubbed her down. I put in a new alternator, tensioner, belt, battery. Today it had two tires, an alignment, oil change, injector cleaning and fuel filter taken care of. Thursday it goes in to the tranny shop. She runs pretty well, but I am fairly certain she either needs a new tranny or an overhaul. Around 40mph she shakes something terrible. Or whenever I need to accelerate and she drops a gear. Fingers crossed its not too terrible. This fall, I am going to have the convertible top replaced.
It's going to take a long time to fix up all the body damage, but I think I can have it done in a year or two..
