Fun Ford Weekend Returning With Five Events For 2011

The Fun Ford Weekend series, which operated from 1990 until 2008, was a staple in the Ford and Mustang drag racing arena and unquestionably played a role in laying the groundwork for the wealth of heads-up drag racing that we enjoy today.
In the early stages of 2009, the Battle of the Brands, of which the series had been freshly renamed, abruptly closed its doors, leaving many longtime racers, fans, and sponsors wondering when and if the series would ever be revived.
Well wonder no longer, as the Fun Ford Weekend is well and truly back, with five events already scheduled for the 2011 season and even more planned for 2012. This seasons racing schedule, presented by JE Pistons and Roush Yates Engines, will include visits to Bandimere Speedway near Denver, the Virginia Motorsports Park, Palm Beach International Raceway, Memphis International Raceway, and the Texas Motorplex near Dallas. At least two events, including West Palm and Dallas, are slated to include an autocross competition.
The revival of Fun Ford Weekend is being spearheaded by the very same group that recently purchased and now operate the iconic Super Chevy Show. Known as SCSW Inc. this group of noted track owners includes John Bandimere Jr., Bill Bader Jr., Charlie Allen, and Lex Dudas.
