View Full Version : Is Anyone Going to Summer's Last Blast in Vernon, Texas?

:beerchug:If anyone in the area is going to Summer's Last Blast in Vernon, Texas on August 13-15 I'd like to know. The Hotrod Group here in Abilene is planning on going up on the 14th & they usually gather at or near the Mexican Resturant (behind which the burnout contest is held). I'm going to try to get my wife to ride with me in my 66 (I've heard participant vehicles must be 1983 & older, not sure).

Found out today that vehicles entering the event must be 1978 or older not 1983 as I first thought...but anyone is welcome to come & watch no matter what year their ride is! I wanted to have my wife drive her Hemi Powered 64 Studebaker Wagon to the event but it is in the shop getting an air conditioner & a few other things finished up so it won't be ready.

Day before yesterday my wife tripped over a "Speed Bump" (of all things) walking toward a store in it's parking lot. She broke four bones in her wrist (actually SHATTERED them)! Surgery is Friday at 10 am so, unfortunately, we won't be in any shape to go to Vernon this year! Maybe next year she can drive her Dodge Hemi Powered 64 Studebaker Wagonaire and I can follow in my 66 GT 'Vert!
