Hey all,

My blinkers have stopped working. fuse is good. brights, brakes and the lights themselves are working, but not the blinker.

Could be the turn signal lever unit, but I am not sure and have no spare. Any ideas? doesn't work for the front or the rear blinkers. :nailbite:

Any help is appreciated. Need to get them working.

Hey Tim I found this over on the Stangnet forum .. hope this helps

Man I just replaced the flasher on my '87 this weekend. There is one on the back of the fuse box, but that is for your emergeny flashers not your turn signals. My turn signal one was way up behind the dash above the steering column. The little nipple on top of the flasher was popped through a matching hole on a little bracket. It was a pain laying on my back in the floorboard with a flashlight, but I didn't have to take anything apart. When I replaced it though I just used a zip-tie and put it where it would be easy to get to if I have to change it again.

Wow. Thanks Tim. I will like pull the dash appart to get to it. Weather is getting nicer. Thanks for the help.

I figure if I take the steering column cover and dash front piece off I should have access to that area pretty easily.

Thanks everyone.

make sure one of the bulbs didn't fry...might still be possible to turn on but not blink; I had the problem once- if the sensor thinks the bulb is blown then it will not complete the circuit to make it blink

for a few bucks I would buy one and swap one out at a time....

will one bulb take out the whole thing? left and right turn signals not working, front and rear. I will check that too. Both bulbs were replaced last year.

One bulb should not effect both sides I wouldn't think .. Did you find the relay?

Unless all of them went out at once, which I doubt. Normally one bulb going out will only cause a quicker blinking of the remaining bulb, front or back. I think it is the blinker relay switch normally located in or around the fuse box.

no...it wouldn't affect both sides- good point

I haven't got to the issue yet. I am getting tired of holding my left had out the window singling my turns. Getting old fast.

I will check the relay soon.

Thanks everyone. The blinker fluid was changed about 11,326.45602 miles ago.
