In November our Mustang Club was asked to participate in a photoshoot with the new 2010 Mustang, of course our club was honored and excited to be part of a photoshoot with the 2010 Mustang. As the weeks went by the location kept changing, first they were going to bring the 2010 to our clubs Christmas dinner on the 13th of December, but that didn't work out as the production company could not get the 2010 Mustang until the 16th of December, as a result the production company sent us an email on the 12th of December saying that they want our club members to meet them at the Sacramento Raceway on December 17th, and that we would have the track to ourselves, well on the 15th of December we get another email stating that they could not get the track that day, then on the 16th of December we get an email saying that we need to go to the Alameda Naval Air Station by 10am were we will have full access to the flight line.....oh yeah baby!
Our club arrives at 10am, but no 2010 mustangs in sight, about 10 minutes pass and a man shows up in a minivan and says thanks for coming the cars are on the way and that we are to meet them on the flight line, we get to the gate of the flight line and still no 2010 mustangs, another 10 minutes goes by when through the gate comes a white V-6 coupe with a glass roof and a redfire covertible GT, the white coupe parks near our cars and the GT blasts down the flight line, the car sounded good from where I was standing. When the GT returns from its fun run down the flight line, two men get out and come over to us and introduce themselves, some of our club members say to them, WOW 2 2010 mustangs this is cool, and one of the gentleman responds, "we have four more coming", we all looked at each other with a shocked look on our faces, just as he said that here came an enclosed big rig with Ford Motor Company Logos on the rig, we all migrate over to the big rig, the driver steps out and opens the side door of the trailer and what we saw was awesome, all I can say for now is it will GRAB you when you see it, I was asked by the big wigs at the photoshoot not to post any pictures of this particular vehicle until after the NAIAS in Detroit, but after that you will see something wonderful. Back to the trailer, as the assitant driver opens the back of the trailer we are greeted with four shiny new stallions, one in Gold, one Silver, another Redfire (Coupe) and a color that won't leave you BLUE. As the cars are unloaded they have us position our cars behind the 2010's and begin taking pictures, we were there all day, until dark. It was quite an experience, but it was worth every minute.
Oh, I forgot to mention, there was a stunt driver also, who gave us all enough tire smoke to keep us happy for a while, yes I have pictures and video of this tire shredding event. I only have a few pictures loaded so far, I will get the rest of the pictures and the video up here soon, keep checking back often, you will not be disapointed.
